Degree apprenticeship entry requirements
Check your eligibility and the evidence required
Entry requirements
Before you apply for a degree apprenticeship, you need to check youāll meet the entry requirements and that you're eligible to apply. Entry requirements outline what qualifications and grades you need before you start your course. This includes any subjects you need to study, where relevant.
Although you don't apply for degree apprenticeships through UCAS, we use the UCAS Tariff point system to show entry requirements for most degree apprenticeship courses. You can see the entry requirements for our degree apprenticeships on the relevant course pages. Most need 112ā120 UCAS Tariff points from 3 A levels (or equivalent), plus at least 2 GCSEs at Grade C/4 (or equivalent) or above including English and Mathematics. We also accept Level 2 Functional skills in English and Mathematics instead of GCSEs. You can work out how many points are awarded to qualifications using the UCAS Tariff point calculator. If your qualifications aren't covered by the UCAS calculator, contact us.
You'll need to provide evidence of your previous qualifications (including GCSEs) before you start your apprenticeship. If you donāt have this evidence, please let us know as soon as possible after you apply.
What if you don't meet the entry requirements?
If you donāt have 3 A levels, we can take other qualifications (such as AS levels) and work experience into account, on some courses.
If you donāt have 2 GCSEs at Grade C/4 (or equivalent) or above including English and Mathematics, you could get these through our partner provider, Fareport Training at the start of your apprenticeship. To arrange this, weāll share your name, email address and qualifications with Fareport after you apply. Weāll share your data securely and it wonāt be used for anything else.
Non-UK qualifications
If you have any non-UK qualifications, youāll need to submit a Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC as part of your application. Youāll need to pay UK ENIC a small fee for this. Find out more on the UK ENIC website.
Eligibility
To do a degree apprenticeship, you need to be employed and have lived in the EEA for 3 years (England is in the EEA) at the start of your apprenticeship. You must also have the right to work in the UK.
You'll need to have a plan for your apprenticeship, which shows you'll be working regularly and spending at least 50% of your working hours in England.
We'll check to make sure you're eligible before you start your degree apprenticeship, and may ask for proof of your right to work in the UK.
